Collision + Sound = Progression

Colliding sounds drives progression. These artists’ unique choices created bold new sounds, and the goal of my design is to reflect their bravery and individuality through typography and dynamic visuals.

Ravi Shankar introduced Indian classical music, blending its traditions with Western sounds. He used music to transcend borders and reshape global listening.

Sketching:

I focused on contrast in type, color and style, creating sketch iterations that explored variations that reflected their essence and impact.

Digital Ideating:

I created typeface variations by combining design with textural, workshop-sourced elements, warping before scanning and refining digitally.

Lettermarking:

I created and refined digital letter sequences that best reflected my big idea, narrowing down to a final concept through iterations.

Layout Iterating:

I built letterforms based on the most related attributes to my concept. Using a triangular grid, I iterated with layout and placement. I also chose my color pallet and created different variations of color and texture for the poster.
